In a significant move to bolster vocational education in Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the employment of 100 teachers for technical colleges. This decision comes in response to findings presented by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, following a thorough assessment of technical colleges in Edo North, Central, and South.
Dr. Iyamu highlighted the governor’s deep commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students in vocational training and his desire to support entrepreneurial spirit amongst Edo youths . He emphasized the need for qualified vocational skills teachers to fill crucial gaps in the educational framework. “We have a system in place to address these gaps effectively,” he stated.
On the recent allegations of abuse at a federal government girls’ college, the Commissioner assured the public that the children involved, regardless of their school’s status, are a priority of Edo state. Government.
