The Edo State Government has successfully resolved the long-standing delay in the induction of 128 medical graduates from Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who completed their studies in August 2024. Recall the student protested on the 9th January and blocked the Ekpoma road when the Governor was passing through due to several months of uncertainty and the Governor gave them the assurance and commitment to resolve the issue in record time.
The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, and the Vice chancellor of the AAU closed out the long standing engagements with the MDCN Registrar, Dr. Fatima Kyari, in Abuja and the issue has finally been resolved and induction slated for 13th Feb,2025.
On behalf of the Government and students of AAU, Dr Paddy expressed gratitude for her support and reaffirmed Edo State’s Government’s dedication to student welfare. This resolution underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to education, youth empowerment, and strengthening the healthcare sector.
The induction marks a victory for students and a step forward in addressing healthcare needs in Nigeria.
Congratulations to the new doctors as they embark on their professional journey.
