Dr. Paddy Iyamu Gifts N1 Million To Best Graduating Student As AAU Inducts 128 Medical Students

Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma on Thursday celebrated the induction of 128 medical students into the prestigious field of medicine.

The event marked a significant milestone in the students’ academic journey and was attended by dignitaries from various sectors. Among them was Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, the Commissioner for Education, who played a pivotal role in recognizing academic excellence during the ceremony.

In a gesture of support and motivation for future medical practitioners, Dr. Iyamu awarded a cash prize of N1 million to the the overall best graduating student, Dr Francis Ufuah.

The Edo State Government has successfully resolved the long-standing delay in the induction of 128 medical graduates from Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who completed their studies in August 2024. Recall the student protested on the 9th January and blocked the Ekpoma road when the Governor was passing through due to several months of uncertainty and the Governor gave them the assurance and commitment to resolve the issue in record time.

The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, and the Vice chancellor of the AAU closed out the long standing engagements with the MDCN Registrar, Dr. Fatima Kyari, in Abuja and the issue has finally been resolved and induction slated for 13th Feb,2025.

On behalf of the Government and students of AAU, Dr Paddy expressed gratitude for her support and reaffirmed Edo State’s Government’s dedication to student welfare. This resolution underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to education, youth empowerment, and strengthening the healthcare sector.
